If I had a Hammer...

At Clairfield, our goal is to prepare our students for the real world. We encourage students to further their education in many ways, including in the classroom setting as well as in hands-on, real world situations. Claiborne County Schools has partnered with Walter's State Community College in their "If I had a Hammer" program to show students the necessity of a strong foundation in math skills, as well as listening and communication skills, in the real world. Under supervision, students used hammers, drills, and other tools to build a shed in just two hours!
